What's the best way of  preserving and eating the produce? You can upload images onto your posts and run your own surveys if you wish. Please visit the FDAGS Forum page for details and a link to the forum. On that page you will also find a link to a step by step guide on using the forum.

Autumn is Tidy-up time on the plots.

·        Now that you have planted out those winter crops of onions, garlic, broad     beans etc   it is time to  tidy-up. ·        Get rid of that long- unused ‘useful stuff’ lying around. Bag it up for a     trip to the tip at  Longdowns. ·        Trim or dig up and remove all of those unwanted plants. ·        Have a bonfire on your site, but not too near plastic tunnels! ·        Carry out repairs to sheds etc. ·        Turn over unused areas of your plot, ready for the winter frosts. ·        Get your paths and boundaries tidied. ·        Things will look better  and you will feel better ·        Posted by Tom G. WHERE’S THAT WATER SUPPLY PIPE?

WHERE’S THAT WATER SUPPLY PIPE? Volunteer members are determined to locate the water supply pipe coming into A site. When located, a connection will be made for a cold water supply to the kitchen in the clubhouse and for a standpipe to be available for   members with plots at the lower end of A site. Mike Stevens is doing all digging, assisted by Dave Payne of divining rod fame. Thank you guys and we hope we may say a ‘WELL DONE’ when you have finished!! Submitted by Tom G. Plot C3

Homemade cakes are regularly donated by Wendy Aitcheson, Jackie Wagland, Evelyn Stevens and Wendy Loader Wendy A. and Jackie run the catering and ensure a friendly reception to all of our customers, some of whom are allotment members and others from the general public. Plants, produce and other interesting items for sale are given by members and handed to the sales team (that’s George Pentecost, Mike Stevens and Tom Greenaway) to persuade customers to part with their money. Many of you look forward to sitting down with a cup’n’cake and having a chat with plot neighbours. This is the place where a shared order for dung or something sweeter is suggested and arranged. Please do give it a try. Meanwhile, a sincere thank you to those of you who donate, give your time on a Saturday morning and of course our customers. The weekly proceeds are used to finance t

Summer Show

I thought that the summer show was brilliant as it always is. I'm sure that members are very grateful to those who arranged it. A couple of questions for next year: Sweet Peas- is it 5 stems of the same variety or any 5 stems? Mangetout Peas - can these be entered in the pea class or can we have a manegtout pea section?
